We're often taught to believe that we are supposed to undoubtedly know how to heal ourselves. The truth is, we honestly don't exactly know how. Leaving our past unhealed, causes us to hold on to things that should be left behind such as old beliefs, grudges, pain, anger and fear. If left untouched, our past has the power to abstain us from growing into our future selves.

Being in the present is one of the best gifts we can give ourselves. We live in a multi-media, "busy, busy, busy" age where everyone is doing three things at once. Our disconnection results in failing to check in with ourselves and lacking the art of being present. We then find ourselves in a position that feels less desirable. Meditation helps you to stay focused in the moment.

As people, we often get caught up in just "getting by." We don't realize that we are co-creators of ourselves. Truthfully, most people don't know what they want. Resulting in an uncertain future which produces uncertain results. Meditation helps you to create an intentional visual of the future you truly desire - one you don't need a vacation to escape from. 

 

 

I was at work when I found out one of my friends from high school passed away. I have no clue how I would have reacted if I had not been meditating over the past 2 weeks. I used both meditation styles you taught us to get myself together and go back to work. I really believe that meditation played a big part in how I am dealing with this.
